About the Department

Community Medicine (CM) is a branch of medicine dealing with healthcare issues affecting communities as a whole. The Department of Community Medicine at Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical College (FRPMC) plays a pivotal role as a public health institution.

Guided by the vision of Air University, the department leads in community development and innovation in curriculum, emphasizing a balance between tertiary care and population health. The department is staffed with experienced faculty including associate and assistant professors, lecturers, demonstrators, a statistician and a social worker.

Our research spans primary health care development, public health practice, health systems strengthening, evidence-based approaches, reproductive health, and environmental & occupational health. The department plays a key role in teaching community medicine to undergraduate students, equipping them with skills in epidemiology, biostatistics and public health research.
